How to give 8 month old a bath - with no bath?

Hi all. My 8 month old has just outgrown her tummy tub. It was getting ridiculous really, as she just stood in it whenever we bathed her over the last month or so. Anyway, we live in an apartment with only a shower and no floor space in the bathroom. We just bought a baby bath from mother care, but I have a feeling that might just tide us over for another month or 2, and of course, we've no room for it! Any suggestions? Ta.

i take it you have a shower?

sit them under the shower or take them in with you.

or sit them in the kitchen sink!

will she fit in the sink? Can you hold the shower closer to her for a wash, she could sit on the floor of it?

You can buy these big rubber buckets. I use them to bath my 7 year old when camping. Should last you a while if you get a big one (Sainsburys sell them)

OR most garden centres/DIY shops should sell them. They are nice and flexible too.

We used a small (one child/ toddler) paddling pool for our DD when she was that age. Think it cost about £4.99 from our local toy shop. She thought it was great fun.

Thanks for the suggestions. I thought it might upset her bed time routine if I didn't give her a bath every night. Well, after almost a week with no bath - just a quick face cloth job when needed - she's barely noticed and still gone to sleep at night without a fight. Phew.

My DD was in a baby bath until she was 17 months old. And she is quite tall for her age. So you should have quite a bit of time to sort it out.

We moved into a house that only had a shower so while we were getting a bath put in we used this for our ds who was 2 1/2 (and a very large 2 1/2 at that!)
He LOVED it and we used it for 7 months as he found it so much fun-he could stretch out in it and it looks just like a mini bath IMO.
We used to put it infront of the tv-the grin on his face was a picture.
It's really strong and robust and we have used it as a toy box now we have finished the bathroom.

Not a bad idea to get her used to the shower anyway - helps when you go swimming or stay somewhere else without bath.
