He has been having weekly swimming lessons for a term now and had basically not improved at all, not a bit.
The swim school do a summer swim which was 8 days and so I enrolled him on that in the hope that 8 days in a row would help him along a bit.
Well he had a different teacher, which helped immediatly as he loves her, and the group was also alot smaller than normal.
So, yesterday it was his last but one lesson and he was by then the only one in his group to not have got his 5 meter certificate and was the only one still using armbands.
By the end of yesterdays lesson the armbands were off and he was swimming, in his own way with a little support from the teacher.
After his lesson he got really upset because he hadn't got his certificate yet and his teacher came and spoke to him in the changing room and said that he was so so close, but as she'd still had to support his head a bit she couldn't pass him. She promised that today they would have a really really good try at it again.
Well I couldn't take him today so xp did. I have just rung Ds and HE DID IT, he swam the five meters all on his own without armbands, only one day after learning to swim without armbands at all.
I am so so proud of him because he was so determined to do it and he did.
Can't wait to see him tommorow and give him a huge squeeze
