I have a 4 1/2 year old dd. She is a delightful child. But something wakes her at around 1am. We are then all awake until at least 5 or 6am.She goes to bed at around 7pm. Any later and she is on her knees, espeically if she has been up all night the night before.
This can happen 3 or 4 nights out of 7. Which is very frustrating as my husband awakes at 3am to go to work(this only twice a week). Sometimes she will sleep through him showering etc. But when she awakes its hell.
She stays with my mum sometimes and wakes at her house at 2am and is then awake all night.
I have done the text book thing and have even contacted the Health visitor who told me to put a stair gate on her bedroom door. Which i am pleased to say keeps her in her room.
She shouts out now once she is awake. Believe it or not I actually don't ever speak to her in the night but continue to return her to her bed.
We are all exhausted as this is now coming up to 16 months of all this behavior.
Does anyone have the answer? or do you think things may improve when she starts school?
We have tried putting her to bed later but she wakes even earlier.
This message has prompted me to ask for advise as the neighbours are now complaining
