How to get 2yo DD to use potty/toilet?

My DD knows when she needs wee/poo but won't tell me all the time and when she does and I try and get her to use potty/toilet she will not sit down for more than 10secs which either causes wee/poo on floor or tanting as I try and reason with her to try the potty/toilet. Help?!

Special toilet/potty story? Would need to be hidden and reserved for potty time.
in front of special dvd just to demonstrate that if she stays on and does something she'll be rewarded (e.g. sticker or chocolate button)

I second the chocolate. My DD1 did something similar, until I introduced chocolate buttons as a reward for doing something in the potty... she only ever had two accidents after that!

yeah potty training is def one of the times when bribary works a treat (excuse the pun!) I only gave one choc button for a wee and two for a poo and did this for about 3 days before telling dd that oh dear they have all gone!!!

It doesn't have to be chocolate.

My 2yr old is 6 days into potty training.
She was happy with an apricot covered in yoghurt as a treat.

When I ran out I gave her raspberries.

However she was also chuffed with a sticker.

You could do stickers and when she fills chart with stickers she gets a present of her choice.

Why not just leave it for a bit?

Try again when it has been her idea to use the potty/toilet rather than yours.
