Stop doing it for him.

Good luck with that. I've only just trained my 7 year old. And I still don't trust him half the time.

He refuses to do it! Will just pull up his pants and carry on. Disgusting!

Will they help him at school or are they expected to do it themselves?

It really is the only way TBH. Remind him every time and tell him he'll get sore and uncomfortable if he doesn't.

NB: only do this if the reason is laziness on his part.

He'll be expected to do it himself. I suggest you start now. You've got six weeks.

Go, woman, go!

they will not help him at school. This is when DS2 finally twigged that he'd have to do it.

Have you got the 'botty wipes' rather than loo roll - the supermarket own ones aren't as astronomically expensive as the branded ones and they've helped with getting my LO (3.10) to do hers. That said my friends daughter is 6 1/2 and still likes my friend to check she's done it properly when she's at home....

Yep - We went out and i let him choose wipes and handwash - ended up with the frog ones - kandoo i think its called, but it make no difference.

Think i might try what soup dragon said. Or get my DP to talk it through with him!

My mum used to threaten my brother when he had skiddy pants. i remember here saying that she would hang them out on the front fence for all to see. He was 15 at the time

Boys are gross! and im the only female in my house!

I have found the only way to get DD1 4.5yrs to do hers by buying her 'Kando' Wipes which are moist wipes rather then loo roll. Oh and constant nagging and reminding her that her sore bottom is because she hasn't wiped properly.

With those wipes you run the risk of blocking up your drains. Apparently companies such as Dynorod etc love them because of the increased business they bring in.

those wipes do definitely block drains

i was at a music group and commented how the loo at work was blocked by kandoo wipes.... 2 other mums (in our class of 8, where 2 of the other children hadnt even began potty training), said they had bloked their drain too, and another mum whose Husband was a plumber told us all NOT to use them as they DO block drains and her OH has to deal with them all the time....

so I started my new job.... new boss decided to go with kandoos...i said to him trust me they will block your drains,he didnt believe me and said they would be fine (as it said on the pack they were flushable) and used them regardless..... a few weeks later it blocked their drains too and so they are now banned in their house too
