Yes! Recommended age is 5 or 6 I think.
(Was that quick enough?)

ds went in at 3. He's never fallen out or fallen down the ladder. IT depends on the child

DD (highly sensitive and very cautious) felt confident enough to get up and down herself by 3.

Yes, quick enough, thank you very much!
There's a tall ikea captain's bed and desk on ebay for £9.99 which was almost too much of a bargain to resist, but I think we'll have to wait a year or so before putting ds somewhere so high!

You can get shorty bunk beds suitable from 3/4. My 4 year old went in one and has never fallen out. It is lower than a standard bunk bed. HTH

Have just got a Thukka bunk bed for our 2 DS's (6 and 4) - they have the normal rails on top but you can also get an extra rail to make it even less likely that they'll fall out. Not sure if any other brands do that.

Yes 2.5 yrs too young imho. My DD1 has just gone up into the top bunk of hers and DDs bunk bed and she's 4.5yrs and the sides are quite high.

DD (3.8) slept in one on hols - there was absolutely no way she was going to sleep on the bottom...so insistent in fact that she practiced going up and down the ladder carefully to prove to us we could trust her

BUT, it was a family room, we were all together and were up when she got out for the loo during the night - not sure I'd put her in one at home at the moment.

Depends on the child.

You might trust the one at the top ... but can you trust the one underneath? Because he/she will climb up there, you know......
