It's getting progressively worse here too. DD1 is 2y1m, and is giving me a headache every day to the point where I started her at nursery two morning a week, and I thoroughly enjoy the peace and quiet with dd2!!!

All I have had today has been NO NO NO NO NO NO and lying down on the pavement/grass/floor and refusing to move. In between being adorable I suppose.

Tonight have been punched in the face, had nipples tweaked, dh has had numerous assaults and the dog has had a slap round the chops Am just hanging out for the nanny's holdiay so she can go and stay with my mum!

You're gonna hate me... but I'd have my 2yo DD back any day of the week compared to her 3yo incarnation....

I have a 2.9 year old and he drives me insane most days. Today has been a good day, I like it when we have good days but there doensn't seem to be enough of them lately. I remember the good old days when he was just 6 months old, he used to sit where I put him and didn't answer me back He is lovely really, just a bit too bad tempered and loud!!!

NO, NO, NO!!!! You're supposed to say that "it's only a year" and that by the time they're 3 they will turn back to being little angels!!!!!

Oh Gid - having been shocked at that "Who Rules the Roost" programme where one toddler was walking on the dining table - I have spent the day removing my DS from ours - he just would not give up.

His usual daytime sleep was met with a firm shake of the head and a definite "No".

I've also had a punch in the face (unintentional), nipples tweaked (he was trying to climb over me on the sofa) - we've no dog for him to slap round the chops but we do now have a very traumatised cat!

I love him dearly but thank God he's in bed

Can I join too? DD is 2y1m and driving me insane. Started tantruming at 13m and has just continued to improve her technique.DH has been away for 4 days and so I´m collapsing into bed exhausted now (I do have a 3m DS aswell), but will look with interest tomorrow - I think there will be a lot of takers.

She is 2 and 4 months. I have no idea how we are supposed to deal with all this obstinance and violence. Have tried ignoring, persuading, shouting etc all to no avail

Hmm my 2.1 year old Ds isn't that bad really, not compared to my 5 yr old DD anyway.

I have a sweet little 6 year old DD as well as my DS currently going through the terrible 2's which I believe is due to end in just over 2 months!!!

Sorry, Cas, it really does get worse...
DD was brilliant all the way until 25-26 months & then it went downhill. Now she won't sleep in her bed, does destructive things to get attention, won't eat her tea (wants me to feed her), goes into hysterics if she gets a drop of water on her, her clothes, chair or toys...Can't make up her mind. Can't speak clearly (another problem), doesn't concentrate on things... she gets "into things" much more now than she ever did as a toddler of 15-18 months!
She's so good, too, sometimes, that I know I'm being mean...
DS was awful at age 3, too, had me in tears many times (Dd hasn't quite achieved that, yet, but I'm waiting...) DS is really nice (mostly) now (5yo). That's what I'm waiting for...
Anyway, maybe you could make it a joint 2-3s support group, CD?

Of course Zebra, I guess your terrible twos just started late..... ;)

ps, DD is currently in overtired hysterics (I am hiding in the office from her while DH deals with her)...she hasn't had any tea because I refused to feed her & she just physically is incapable of sitting still, which makes it difficult to feed yourself... hasn't eaten much at all today, come to think of it.

BAD MOTHER ALERT - dd would NOT let me do her up in her car seat today, went totally rigid and stuck her tummy out and shut her eyes. Ended up saying "RIGHT I DON'T CARE IF WE HAVE A CRASH AND YOU BUMP YOUR HEAD COS IT WILL SERVE YOU RIGHT", slamming her door, getting in and driving off with her screaming "MUMMY STRAP ME IN I DON'T WANT TO BUMP MY HEAD!!!"

Needless to say on the way home she let me do it no fuss

I know but it's bad isn't it? That they can drive you to that (no pun intended!)

I did drive all the way to the park at 3mph!

oh yep.. terrible two's moving into tortureous (sp?) threes...

ds favourite at mo is to make me feel a complete nervous wreck in public.

ie.. nice party today with one of those lovely singy ladies with puppets.

Everyone else sat down avidly watching and joining in.... ds shouts 'NO SING!' at top of voice (in the quiet bit) then when puppets appear he of course wants them... major scene unfolds upsetting the lovely singy lady!!! .. cue early exit from 'nice' peoples party!!!!

Never think that you are the only one.

I just wish when my kids 'perform' other mums etc were less judgemental.

If it is any consolation my dd was a lovely 2 year old and has got worse as she gets older. Has more tantrums now than when she was 2. She is currently 3 and 3/4!!!

DS who is 15 months has started throwing himself on the floor though when he doesn't get his way....
