Telling Fibs and wetting knickers twice in 2 hours! HELP .....

My DD 4.5 has been out of nappies during the day since she was 3.

She never has any accidents during the day at Creche but once she gets home she wets her knickers almost immediately (only a little dribble). (She often has accidents during the day when she is at home - she might be drawing/watching TV and gets involved in things). She is obviously conscous of it as she rushes off to the toilet. Then she will change her knickers (or I will help her). This happened twice this evening. The second time she would not admit she had wet herself. She hid the knickers behind her back and told me she had not wet them. Of course, I knew she had. I asked her if she was telling a fib and she said no.

I dont want to reprimand her and this could be a delicate situation, any help would be appreciated.

As an aside she still has a dummy for bedtime and still wears pull-ups in bed - these are never dry.
She is also good natured and confident child.
WE WOULD LOVE TO GET HER OUT OF NAPPIES AND OFF THE DUMMY!!!!

how about getting dd to go to the toilet as soon as she walks through the door? its a pain to have to remember but i'm sure she'll get the message quite soon. also how about putting a potty in the room that she is playing/watching tv and just keep reminding her.
in terms of night nappies, its really common so dont worry. but dd1 cracked it when we went on holiday and i forgot to bring her pull ups and could not get any in the resort shop so she had to learn. she did it on the first night, took herself to the toilet.
i think it also helps to keep emphasising what a BIG girl she is and how proud you are of her when she gets it right.

dd1 had a comforter until she was 4 yrs old and on her birthday, we explained that the birthday fairy would get her an extra special present if she gave up her comforter to someone younger. she chose and baby and never looked back.

thats the good thing about her age, she can understand reason, to reward charts are good at this age.

hope that helps in some way!!
