Should I carry on giving my daughter a beaker or go back to bottle?

My dd is 2years old, and i decided that enough was enough i'd take away her bottles and give her a beaker. i have tried many times before to get her to use a beaker but she does not want to. I have bought many different types but none of them worked. But after succesfully giving her a beaker of juice on 2 occasions i decided now is probably the right time. She has been having juice and milk from a beaker for 5 or 6days now. At first i knew it would take some time to get used to it but i've started getting worried that she is not drinking enough. She will refuse to drink from her beaker for hours and them when she gives in she'll have 1 sip and refuse anymore. she has only had 1beaker of juice today untill i eventually gave in and gave her a bottle. But only because i knew she was dehydrated by the strong smell of her urine and colour in nappy. What can i do? shall i give up and go back to bottles? Please help.

My ds doesn't drink enough imo. Drinks okay at mealtimes, but it used to be a real chore getting him to stop whatever he was doing and have a drink, just wasn't interested. Had to literally force him to drink, saying he couldn't carrying on playing with toys until he'd had at least a few sips! I found that giving him a bottle (as in bottled spring water) to drink out of was a bit of a novelty and he would drink loads then. Obviously had to supervise otherwise it would be all over the place. What about a straw? Just to encourage her a bit. He's fine now, will drink when I ask him to (nearly 5 yrs), but still have to remind him. Wouldn't go back to a baby bottle though.

I wouldn't go back to the bottle. Don't give in when you've come so far, My ds was like this for a while when I stopped the bottle. I can't remember how long it went on for tbh, but sure it wasn't long. I think Chunky chips idea of a straw is a good one. Maybe you could let her choose one of those cups with swirly straw? It might inspire her.

novelty works for some kids. we rotate ramdomly thro - open beaker no handle, beaker with handle , beaker plus straw, closed cup with straw in lid, sports bottle( he loves that one coz its like daddy's) and sippy cup.
I also use squash and dilute juice more than water coz he won't drink much water but Likes fruit juice. went thro a phase when he drank more cows milk than anything but seems we're onto juice now.

Dd has had phases of not drinking enough especially when we were cutting back the milk. Using different methods worked well. She loves a plastic 'glass' with a straw - and will drink a lot more with that. And any new cup/beaker is a novelty for a session. We also let her use a water bottle sometimes which she loves - and the mess is only water!
