Wakes at 4/5 wanting a chat 3.5 months

Can any one help. My DD has been sleeping from 7pm, feed at 10 then going back until 7am, which has been great, but the past few nights she has been waking at 4/5, not crying but awake ready to start the day. I have been naughty and have brought her into bed with me as I have had no other way of getting her to go back off. She has a dummy and all she does is spit it out at this time. Any advise would be brilliant.

Have you tried feeding her when she wakes? It's possible she's starting to get hungrier at almost four months.

it has been a bit chillier the last few nights so maybe the room is a getting a bit cool as the night wears on. Could you set the heating to come on for an hour at about 3am or put an extra blanket on your DD when you go to bed?

I wouldn't worry too much about taking her into bed with you. I've done that on and off when DD has had early waking periods and she still goes off to sleep on her own OK.

Our DS did this around 4 months. I wish bringing him into bed with us would have got him back to sleep when he did this

We used to go into his room pick him up sit on a chair in his room holding him, trying to avoid eye contact and not talking back. He would keep talking and talking and eventually start yawning and go back to sleep. We would put him back in his cot and he would usually sleep for another couple of hours. It did stop after about 4-6 weeks but it was tough at the time. Good luck!

ds is 16wks, and he went through a week of doing this, funnily enough, last week, but has now gone back into his usual routine. Don't feel naughty for bringing your dd into bed- I did! I can kind of doze while he chunters on, but I have to confess sometimes I can't help responding when he's all sweet and smiley!! I have 2 other kids, 4 and 2.7, and I sometimes feel guilty about not having enough time for ds, as he is such a good baby, so I quite enjoy the wee secret chats in the middle of the night sometimes!

We all co-sleep together and DS has been through a couple of patches like this. As DH has to get up at 6.30am to commute to London I usually end up getting up with DS if he gets too vocal. I too quite enjoy sitting on the sofa cuddling him and chatting until he's ready to be fed back to sleep.
