5 year old weeing in knickers most days

as it says really

my dd (5) has a little wee in her knickers most days - she is at school - it is as if she is holding on to the last possible moment and then leaking a bit

i dont think it is a medical issue as some days she is fine

i tried a reward chart but she then started to hide her knickers on occasion

i am really worried that if i keep going on about this it will make it a real issue - i have got cross in the past

i now remind her before we go to school and when i pick her up from school and she does tend to go

she says that she is too busy to go at school - playtime etc - shoudl i talk to the teacher about it? i am not sure she will help a great deal - i imagine she expects 5.5 year olds to be managing this themselves

aghhhh what do i do?

stop the getting cross id say, buy her some new pants with a motif on and explain to her when shes finished a wee if she leans forward the little bit thats stored will wee wee too and say every day she keeps her pants dry she will get a star .......does it smell? maybe she has infection? maybe shes a bit nervous? whatever it is it isnt pleasant for her and needs stopping before other children realise too ......

Are the toilets scarey at all?, are they allowed to go to the toilet in 2's?..DS hangs on because he is afraid of going to the toilet on his own, it is badly lit and quite spooky

My dd is 6 and still smells by school hometime (and 1st thing in morning). She's always had a behavioural problem with going to toilet.
Obviously I have NO idea how you sort it, either! The worst part is I know that the holding in can lead to UTIs.

i dont think the loos are scary - they are bright and colouful and near the class room - she seems ok with them when i take her in

the smell thing (can you believe we are discussing this?!) - it smells of ammonia - is that normal? should i take her to the docs in case of infection?

i will try the advice on asking her to lean forward and do the sticker chart again - she likes stickers

ok i bought my stickers today and i am going to make an appt to rule out (hopefully) and infections

anything else i should think of or do you think that should do it?! anyone been through this and come out the otherside unscathed?

I got to the bottom of this with my dd who is also 5. She was too busy, and would wait until the last minute before going to the loo. She would not be able to get the teachers attention to ask to go to the loo in time. Mostly happened at breaktime when there was even more of a palava in getting there in time. I spoke to her teacher and definately stopped getting cross and things improved.... hasn't done it for a few weeks now.
