When did yours start with the baby buds?
And how soon after did everything else start?

My (very skinny) dd started her periods when she was 14. She would be mortified to know I said this, but she still doesn'treally have boobs(all right she does but they are of the 32AA variety) and she's 20.
Dd2 was plumper and started her periods at 13.
They're all different.

DD1 (also very skinny!) started her periods last summer, aged 12. Still not an awful lot of boobs to be honest - 32AA soft crop top thing is all she needs at the moment.

I had boobs at an early age, I can't remember when but it was certainly early. Some adults still don't have boobs so you can't go by age anyway!

My dd is almost 8 and has just started with the buds. Quite painful for her for a while but seem to have settled a bit now.

My DD is 10 now and we noticed teeny buds at about 9.5. No periods yet, thankfully, but she does have the beginnings of pubic and underarm hair. She's skinny but v tall.

They grow up so fast. All breasts sizes are different (as we all know), even for girls going through puberty. The best indicator is a reasonable amount of pubic hair. The difficulty is that by the time it starts growing you are not allowed to see them with nothing on - so ask delicately. There's lots of good books out there which help, I bought 'Growing Up: It's a Girl Thing'.

my DD1 started getting 'buds' at 11, as did DD2, altho DD3 is 9 now and already showing signs.

DD1 only started her periods tho last month and is almost 14, so for her it took 3yrs from buds to periods......she still is only small tho at a 30A. I think that it is the pubic hair that seems to be a better indicator.....DD1 started noticing hers growing about last may/june so 7/8mths.

one thing I do hope tho is that the earlier they grow I hope doesn;t mean the bigger they grow... DD1 BF started growing at 8 and is now bigger than an E cup at 13 and for her too, as she hates it!

makes my DD1 feel tiny tho......tis so unfair how unevenly boob size is shared out!

DD2 statred to develop buds at age 7 (very tall and skinny) I took her to the doctors and he said it was unusual to start puberty early unless the girl was overweight. He said sometimes the body has a little surge of hormones and that the buds may well go down again. WHich they did. She is now 9.5 and still no sign of them returning.

I read somewhere that periods generally start about 2 years after the first buds appear usually preceeded by a growth spurt.

My dd is 10 and i have noticed that her buds are getting quite large. She also has a body odour problem which i eliminate with Miss Kitty deodrant. She is also getting moody do not know if it is all connected but i suspect that it is.

so happy to find this thread!!
my DD1 has buds, she is 11yrs, i noticed buds around 10 and a half yrs.

marmon my DD1 also has body odour prob starting. As long as she has fresh vest/shirt each day it's fine (my younger ones get the same shirt a couple of days running to save on the washing). But what is Miss Kitty deodorant? Perhaps we should give it a go, i've not seen it anywhere, where do you get it?

also, i have noticed mood changes recently, it really must be puberty. Not grumpy to me necessarily, but getting SAD, particularly at night time. Difficulty getting off to sleep and obviously having deep and meaningful thoughts... coming downstairs and asking me why she doesn't feel happy anymore

it's breaking my heart!

My DD ill be 8 in March. For the past year she has been having regular checks at the local hospital as her breast buds started to develop just after her 7th birthday.

After blood tests ,x-rays and monitoring
for a year, she has just been discharged, her consultant says yes her breasts are budding but as shes almost 8 ,and they have'nt developed in a rapid way, shes happy shes developing normally. They now class breast development in 8 year old girls as normal growth.

She also has been wearing deodorant since last summer and been very moody. Her consultant did advise me to give her evening primrose oil for 3 months to see if it made a difference, but it didn't and is just natural moodiness apparently

Hope this puts your mind at rest.
