18 months old. Late walker, prefers knee walking really But she loves being walked round holding someone's hand, and is a bit wobbly, but OK.

Took her outside for a mini walk, and she wanted to keep on walking (she only had on pram shoes and her feet got wet)and tantrumed when we came inside. But she kept trying to knee walk as well, and her kness got soaked as she tried to do it through a puddle

Should I get her some proper shoes

If she wants to walk outside then yes I would get her some shoes and maybe some knee pads too!

If she wants to be outside you could just get her some wellies until she's walking properly.

I think the general rule of thumb used to be when they could easily walk from one side of the room/ shoe shop to the other without needing to hold on to anything or one.

yes

OR you could get the muddypuddles of baby wellies...

they are nothing like conventional wellies at all.... more like completely water proof booties, because really little feet (esp those who havent been walking for at least 6 weeks) should not be in hard soled shoe type things.

www.muddypuddles.com/Waterproofs/Muddy-Puddles-Originals/Thermal-Booties

they are great and will keep there feet warm and dry... if she want to crawl outside around get a muddy puddles all in one suit, if you havent got one already. They are fab and in the next few months you WILL get loads and loads of use out of it!

the sizes are generouse.... my 2.4 year old (who is in aged 2 -3 or even aged 3 (not just aged 2 anymore) still fits into his 18 - 24 month suit

But do those thermal bootee things protect from sharp stones or glass? That is what I am really worried about
