Four month old not rolling

Well she did it once, from front to back, but has never repeated the exercise. At the moment she's not even trying. She's 4.5 months.
She's massive, only the 91st centile - so different from my first who was very light and could flip herself over with no bother.
It's been a while since my first and I've forgotten what's normal... is it normal to be nearer six months?

I think rolling front to back is a 4-6 month milestone and the opposite more like 5-7 months? I really wouldn't worry yet, still plenty of time :)

Thank you! I've been so much more relaxed this time but can't really remember when they're supposed to do what

Yeah our little one is nearly 6 months, she done it once maybe 2 weeks ago and now does it numerous times a day.

Our daughter rolled for first time at 6 months, crawled at 7. Some babies I know rolled at 7/8 months and also are absolutely fine.

My son didn't roll at all until gone 7 months. We were sent to physio and they basically told me he was absolutely fine, just a bit lazy 😂 He is 2 years old now and you would never know he was a late roller (and crawler). I worried so much about it back then, I wish I could go back and tell myself not to worry about it x

Ah I wouldn't worry! A little girl I know never rolled and crawled really late, but walked really early. My baby girl started rolling ONLY front to back from maybe 4- 5 months and that's all she did for a very very very long time. It took so long for her to learn to roll from her front to her back. Many sleepless nights of her rolling onto her front and gering stuck and crying. I would have to keep flipping her back over. It was so bad. The worst stage by far in terms of sleep deprivation.

Thank you! She's just now showing much of an interest in trying which she was a month ago, but I think it's because she's working on other things just now (lots of loud cooing "conversations" and grasping things/bringing them to the mouth).

Funny how much you forget from the first time. I've definitely been less worried about each stage this time and trying to stay zen. Weaning will be the big challenge with that as my first has allergies so I'm NOT looking forward to it.

Mine did front/back at 4m once then didn't do it again until 5m.. Back to front wasn't til at least 6m so I wouldn't worry at all Grin
