Nearly 4yo wants to fight

DS who up until now has been the most loving gentle and sensitive boy has recently started to play fight with sticks etc pretending they are swords and weapons etc.
When I think of it his playmobil toys he got for Xmas have pirates with guns and swords etc and he is very good at imagination and pretend okay with his toys I think he's struggling to understand the difference between real life (not fighting and being aggressive) to pretend play where his figures fight etc and there are goodies and baddies etc.
Is this normal behaviour?
And how is best to overcome it please?

Absolutely normal.
I have twin DS and DD. When we put out the dinosaurs, DS will have fights between T-Rex and brontosaurus, DD will make them walk together and chat " hello, what's your name, let's go for a walk"

Don't try to overcome it. It is nature.

DS is totally obsessed with fighting (5). I don't get it but 🤷‍♀️
