5 year old DS cannot sit still when learning

My 5 year old DS can not concentrate or sit still when doing reading and writing. My other 5 year old DS doesn't have this problem.
I'm wondering if he might have ADD. Where do I get a test or help, the doctor first I imagine?

I don't think it is a problem yet. Most countries in Europe don't start school until gone 6 for this reason. Mine couldn't sit still at 5 either its quite normal.

He sounds like a normal 5 year old.

Maybe do the work after he has been doing something active so he might feel a bit calmer after using up his energy.

My ds' s teacher used to say this at Parents Evening but she admitted that a good proportion of the class can't sit still. If it was carpet time and there was a lot of wriggling, she'd hold up a card with a triangle symbol which meant please stop wriggling and sit still. Last time I heard this he was in y2 and he seems fine now. He's August born which is possibly why he was later to sit still than other classmates who were up to 11 months older.

Mine is also 5 and is the same. I've also wondered if he has ADD!
