DS can walk but doesn't!

I posted here about 6 weeks ago about DS not walking, he must have seen because just after he started!

I don't know if my expectations are too high or something but although he can walk and has done 14 steps max on his own, he just doesn't walk and still crawls the majority of the time.

Is this normal?

Meant to add he's just turned 15 months!

Mine did this for about a month before she just gradually used her feet more and more exclusively. I don't think it's anything to be concerned about if he's walking with a normal gait. It took me by surprise too though coz all my nieces and nephews just did it then got on with it lol

My ds is exactly the same! He's 14 months next week and took his first steps the week before he turned 1, but he's still choosing to crawl/cruise rather than walk except for short distances e.g a metre or so between objects. He is making progress, it's just really slow! I think it's a confidence thing for him as when he's near furniture he walks steadily and confidently, yet will not walk out into space by himself- he will just drop down to his knees! Can your ds stand himself up without the aid of furniture? Mine hasn't attempted to yet and I think that is what's holding him back, but I'm not sure how to encourage it? He will happily stand himself up next to a wall casually touching it with one hand so he's not even pulling up, more using it for reassurance? 🙄

Right?? My friends kids have gone from a few steps to full on walking and just sort of thought that was normal, apparently not for my little boy 😂

I thought that was what happened too but apparently not for all of us! Im sure they will get there soon (hopefully). I think when ds finally gets the confidence to go he will skip the falling over stage and just go straight to walking well as he's had so much practice! I'm not worried in the slightest from a developmental aspect as his balance is great and he will cruise all day long so he clearly has enough weight bearing strength. He's just a bit of a wuss 😂

@MrFlibblesEyes he can stand from the ground to standing alone without pulling up really well in fact he hardly ever needs to pull up anymore but we're the same, he sees an open space and he's straight down to his knees! I think confidence too, doesn't help that he doesn't see any other children because the group's have all been cancelled etc and I guess crawling is faster 😂🤦🏼‍♀️xxx
