I am looking for some child development/parenting books. There are so many online and I don't know where to start! I'm happy to buy some based on development and some on parenting but equally don't mind if they cover both areas. DS is 2. Thank you

1. The book you wish your parents have read.
2. The Explosive Child.
3. How to talk so kids will listen.

Dan Siegel has written a few helpful books on understanding kids - i have found them very useful especially the whole brain child and no drama discipline :-)

Unconditional Parenting
Peaceful Parents, Happy Kids
How to Talk so Little Kids Will Listen
The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read

Different genre altogether, but I also like The Montessori Toddler for encouraging me to give her opportunities to do more things independently
