Worried about baby standing and falling

My nearly 6 month year old has started crawling all over the place and pulling herself up on things and trying to get to standing, she's very wobbly but we let her do her thing on a soft surface and ready to catch her etc. I'm worried that she will pull herself up in her cot at night as she seems to practise all her physical skills at night! The cot sides are up high and there's no chance she's good enough to get out but I'm worried she will tumble over inside the cot but bang her head on the other side if that makes sense? Am I being silly? Do people pad the sides? I remember being told no bumpers for little newborns incase they roll and suffocate but I don't think this would be a problem for my active little baby!

I didn’t pad mine. I did used to get worried when DD hung onto the bars and bounced, and then cruised round the edges (corners presented her with a problem for a while!). Generally when she fell it was because her knees buckled and she always landed on the cot mattress. If yours does fall and bang her head, remember she won’t have fallen far and probably won’t hurt herself. They do need to learn how to fall without hurting themselves too much, and a cot is about the safest place they can learn that.

No pads/bumpers in my crib and my little one did fall down a few times and bang his head . Once he had a massive nose bleed too . It was fine though and when he got better at standing that stopped happening. He’s now 17 months and always face planting into the ground , falling off the couch, trying to run down the slides . He gives me a heart attack 😩! Trust me, I wouldn’t worry too much about the crib !!! There will be worse dangers as he gets older and you can’t always protect them 😝

I wouldn't worry. My 27MO repeatedly bangs her head on her headboard when she's shuffling around getting comfy at bedtime and never even bats an eye lol. I highly doubt at 6MO your's will do herself any serious harm especially if your cot is lowered so she definitely can't get out. Cot padding is not recommended as risk of cot death and I would've thought this is a much higher risk than a little bump to the head tbh. Presumably you have a monitor? Worst case scenario she'll tumble and be upset and maybe a bit of a bump and you can comfort her. Don't worry
