Behaviour/development

Literally the worst cry I've ever heard

My DD is 6mo and has recently started to get so worked up over nothing. I get that babies cry, but she cries so hard that her arms shake and she can barely breathe, and it's over ridiculous things that either revolve around not being held or putting her down in her cot. Is this normal behaviour? I'm a FTM so this is all new to me!

Hi OP, sorry not sure this will help as my LO did this way younger (2-3mo) but he screamed himself purple out of being overly tired. It was a vicious circle - too tired, unable to sleep, more tired and so on. I did not really know what it was (FTM!) but a friend told me and showed me how to recognise. It may be something else entirely, but if you eliminate the obvious (wet/hungry/lonely/in pain) this comes to mind. How long between sleeps do you keep your LO awake?
