Sick to death of baby crying

I’m so tired. Like really tired in my chest. My baby constantly cries and when she doesn’t cry, I’m waiting for the next crying fit. She’s 6 weeks so all I’ve known with her is this lockdown and I’m really struggling. My husband is trying his best but he’s also getting exhausted with it all.

Has anyone got any advice what so ever or any hope to tell me this will end and if so when’s it likely to end?

We’ve tried colic treatments and they don’t work, she’s putting on weight and doesn’t appear to be I’ll.

I've had a crier and it's really tough isn't it?

If you are BFing, have a read of this on Kellymom.

However you feed her, it's also worth reading up on tongue tie.

And if you are fffing, have you tried swapping brands, adding Dentinox to the bottle and using a variflow teat?

One thing that used to help me, was feeding and changing DS in the evening then DH taking him out for a drive or a walk so that I could get an hour or two's sleep.

Is she bringing her wind up. ? Do you baby ware? Having baby in sling might help settle baby.

It’s so tough. Especially with no help and a first time mum so there’s loads you don’t what’s normal. We’re formula feeding, I’ve not heard of dentinox before, is it for colic? I don’t even know if she’s got colic.

She does burp and trumps a lot. I’ve tried putting her in a carrier but she just cries the whole time whilst she’s in it. And I’ve tried to leave her in it for a while but she doesn’t settle.

The health visitor is coming out to us finally on Monday. Hopefully they can tell me what’s wrong with her (if anything). It’s bad to think that I hope there is something wrong so it can be sorted, if she’s just a cranky baby and there’s nothing we can do I’ll be so sad.

Dentinox goes in the bottles, it's certainly worth giving it a try Smile

She does burp and trumps a lot. Some things to try are anti colic bottles, winding her after every ounce and look up the "Tiger in the Tree Hold" on YouTube.

It's also worth reading up on Cow's Milk Protein Allergy just in case she has that Smile

I’ve tried putting her in a carrier but she just cries the whole time whilst she’s in it. And I’ve tried to leave her in it for a while but she doesn’t settle.

Carriers and slings are a bit different. It might be worth trying a nice stretchy sling. There are often Sling Libraries, but whether they would be operating right now, I don't know.

Can I ask how much formula she's having in 25 hours too? Usually they need 2.5 floz per pound in weight in 24 hours. If she's having less, this might be the cause of her upset.

How much is she having per bottle too and is she drain in g the bottle or is there a bit left each time?

And it really might be worth swapping brands. A lot of babies seem to settle on Hipp Organic, including my DNs who both had this with the Dentinox added.

Sorry about the typos. It should have said "how much is she having in 24 hours?"

Am very pissed Blush

I also had a crier, it was really hard. I think he had colic and I just felt like he was the unhappiest baby in the world. He refused to be held by anyone else other than me. If I went out to walk the dog on my own, leaving him with my husband, I’d get home 40 minutes later and as soon as I walked in the door I’d hear screaming. It gets better, it honestly does. I’d say around the 13/14 week mark I noticed a huge difference. He’s now a very happy 10.5 month old (when he’s not teething!). You’re doing a great job, it’ll pass and all of the smiles and giggles you’ll get will massively outweigh the struggle of this time xx

I feel your pain. My son cried a lot as well. Being a FTM I didn't know what was normal so panicked, and like you said when he wasn't crying I was waiting for him to start. DM noticed him bringing his legs up when having a bottle and suggested it was wind so we tried infacol and spent more time winding, cycling legs etc. It was very difficult but for us I think he improved around 7/8 weeks old. Now he only really cries with teething and whinges a bit when he's over tired. Hang in there, it gets better!

My son is 6 weeks old, he cries constantly and never seems happy. Have you looked into silent reflux symptoms or anything incase it's that? He's been put on milk thickener for his reflux and I've used everything over the counter for his colic and NOTHING seems to be working!

His cries are soul shattering they're so loud like he's in constant agony!
I'm ringing the doctors tomorrow and pushing for more help with it as I'm wondering if he's lactose intolerant as I was as a baby.

Sending you hugs because going through it myself I know it's fucking horrific. I really feel for you.
If you need to talk to anyone, give me a message!

I had a crier- it nearly broke me! Turned out she had silent reflux and cows milk protein allergy. We found out at 8 weeks. Like yours she was putting weight on but always farty, bringing legs up to her tummy, squirming in pain especially when laid down. And the piercing cry. Once we found out we could make it a bit better for her. She improved at about 4 months when the sleep regression hit and finished us off
Must be awful to have a tiny baby during lock down when you can't access support - hang on in there! Cake
