Hi, my son is 20 months old and has undergone a hearing test which confirmed both ears were congested, meaning he has glue ear. He has been given a hearing band to wear but I’ve yet to notice any improvements.
He is 20 months old and has not said 1 word at all, he makes lots of sounds-some babbling and some strange/unusual tones. I’m so worried that it’s more than his hearing. Really hoping others have had similar experiences and can offer some advice on their child’s personal development with having glue ear.
I’ve been looking into autism symptoms and watching videos and he does some similar things to those mentioned. I should also point out it was his nursey who noticed his hearing issues at around 9/10 months as he didn’t, and still does not, respond to his name.
I’m at a loss what I should do, given the current situation relating to covid-19 his hearing test (whilst wearing the band) has been cancelled.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙂
