Demanding 2 year old

My just turned 2YO plays very well with various things but is still quite demanding of our attention which I'd expect her to be at this age if we busy ourselves with something else other than her she seems to make a beeline for the most dangerous thing in the room grin What I've found she plays best alone with though are crafty things, particularly kinetic sand. I will tend to start her off by reminding her how to play with it then tell her I'm going to do some tidying up now or something and leave her but keep her in eyesight and she'll usually busy herself with it for a few minutes. Her dolls and soft toys she will also play with quite a bit by herself. Remember though that their expected attention span at this age is probably a few minutes at best and they're still probably interacting with the world very physically so I wouldn't expect anything to keep them out of mischief for too long xx

Unfortunately I don't really have any helpful advice. I was literally about to post the exact same thing as you.

My little girl will be 3 in July and is so demanding. It's be coming quite draining especially with the lockdown as she really cannot occupy herself even for 5 minutes. I don't know whether I am expecting too much but I would love nothing more than seeing her really enjoying playing something but nothing I try seems to grab her attention.

So sorry probobly not helpful at all but just wanted to let you know you are not alone! X

Am looking for some help in getting my almost two year old to spend chunks of time playing/amusing herself without constant attention. We have been doing a range of activities with her since lockdown, but very rarely will she sit occupied with a toy or colouring etc and is becoming quite demanding. I am not talking about leaving her for hours at a time, purely 10-15 minute bursts with me sitting in the same room. Has anyone got any advice?

Second baby is due soon also and I will have to be able to BF/see to them without DD1 constantly needing attention. Thanks
