Baby can crawl but won't...

Hi everyone
Long time lurker and thought I would take the plunge and see if anyone has experienced anything similar.
My 10 month old son has been able to crawl for a few weeks now, but he doesn't seem to want to bother unless we entice him to. He doesn't explore, just sits on his playmat and plays with whatever toys are nearby. If I encourage him to crawl towards me he will, but rarely of his own accord.
Has anyone else experienced this? I want to encourage him to move around and explore but he just doesn't seem to want to!!
Is there anything I can do to encourage it or will it come with time?
Thank you in advance for your help xx

Didn’t have that experience (DD didn’t get the hang of crawling until after she could walk). Does your DS spend much time with toddlers? Other children moving around always seems to be good motivation to little ones to get up and go. If he really doesn’t want to, I don’t think it’s necessarily an issue - different babies have different temperaments, maybe he just likes sitting and looking at things at the moment?

Yes I did, though not quite as long as you (maybe a week)? Don’t put him near his toys - he’ll soon crawl to them!
