I want to ask what people think about parents who put up videos online of their autistic non verbal child for anyone who wishes to look at the behaviour of the child. I think it is unfair to the child because the child is unable to give their consent and is put up for all to see the way they are and they cannot say no I do not want to be put up for anyone to look at me having a meltdown or a tantrum. The reason for this is to make other people who may have kids with autism or a family member and see how this family deal with it and can pick up ideas. I think it is not fair on the autistic child. Most other children who could speak would be able to say no i do not want to be put on youtube because not everyone who watches youtube will be sympathetic and some nasty people will poke fun.
