Hair obsession

My little girl is obsessed with playing with hair, anyones she will just play with their hair if she can, last week in playgroup she was playing with a ladies hair she didn't even know.
Watching tv she will cuddle in and play with my hair, On a night she won't go to sleep unless she is playing with my hair but she is nearly 3 now so the gentle playing has turned into pulling and wrapping her fingers round my hair, it feels like she is pulling it out, i have asked her to be gentle, tried her with a teddy, last night she was up for 2 hours pulling my hair the whole time, my head is so sore now.
Has anyone managed to successfully swap hair for something and if so what, what will work?
Thanks from a tried, pained mama.

Honestly, if you have a DH/DP or someone else around, I'd go out at bedtime for a few days until she's broken the association with pulling your hair and getting to sleep. Lots of Mums do this when they want to stop giving the feed before bed so it should work, or it's at least worth a try Smile

If she does it in the day, could you offer her a different toy to play with for comfort?
