Avoiding toilet because won’t wash hands

My son has had issues with constipation and withholding his poo since potty training a year or so back. He’s under a paed and is improving.

We have a new issue lately which is him refusing to wee. I’ve realised now that the issue is he doesn’t want to wash his hands. He went through a phase of washing his hands too much a few months back but now he’s gone the other way.

He’s avoiding the toilet or other messy activities like playing in the garden, sand etc.

I’m at my wits end and have no idea what to do. Who’s best to help? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

I'm really sorry, I don't have any experience.

How old is your son? Could he help you choose a new hand wash? Do you think that may help?

I’m going to try this. Thanks for responding. He’s almost four. It’s incredibly upsetting.
