Why oh why will 5yr old DS not stop fiddling with his penis?
It seems like it's CONSTANT and I'm worried all he hears me say at the moment is 'DS please will u stop playing with it'

Is this normal?? He is my eldest child so I don't know if this is just a boy thing? I've asked him if it hurts and he always says no, he's never had a UTI and and if i ask him why he's always touching it he says he doesn't know

It's not like he's putting his hand down his pants it's just he always seems to be readjusting or just fiddling through his clothes

Any words of wisdom would be appreciated!

I think it's normal.

This is perfectly normal in my experience. Think of it like a comfort blanket for boys. :D

I almost forgot about this, mine was exactly the same. A little bit embarrassing in public but it was just a phase nothing to worry about.
Worst case scenario different underpants

Mum of 3 boys aged 6, 4 and 2, it's completely normal, eldest 2 don't leave them alone 🙈

My 6 year old doesn't actually play with his. However he's very aware of it. And talks about changes that happen to his very openly. Strangely he mostly discusses them with me too? Rather than talking to my husband. Lol.
If you feel it's excessive, have you tried a discussion age and stage appropriately about private's and respecting boundaries? May be worth a try if not. We had to with ours when he started school as previously to that we had had no need.

I've been saying "DS, get your hand out of your trousers" for a couple of years now. He is 7, and prefers to put hand down trousers rather than fiddle through the fabric.
