tigerschick Sat 18-Aug-07 08:13:27

A little and more than a bit

MrsJohnCusack Sat 18-Aug-07 08:15:46

I hope my children grow up to say funny things like this

totaleclipse Sat 18-Aug-07 08:17:54

DS - But why do I have to brush my teeth, 3 of them are loose, and the rest will be soon, I promise I will brudh my new teeth properly

FrannyandZooey Sat 18-Aug-07 08:22:23

Yes it's ds, if it was dp I would be

he has washed his hands and got a lecture for calling names

"I was calling myself a dingo poo poo. I would never say that to you or Daddy [innocent]"

FrannyandZooey Sat 18-Aug-07 15:43:31

Further utterances from ds:

"Thank goodness we found the flipping toilets in time."

"I am sorry but you won't be able to play with me when we get home Mummy. Daddy and me have some gardening to do."

Boy Next Door: "I hate you."

Ds: "You really are very very very silly indeed."

this poo poo thing is rather tiresome and yet at the same time rather snigger inducing.
at the moment we have a "magic bottom" which can be detached but often isn't

FrannyandZooey Sat 18-Aug-07 15:48:29

Ds has two imaginary friends who live in the toilet and eat his poo

the poo poo sniggering obsession is still very much in its infancy here, he is a late starter

FrannyandZooey Sat 18-Aug-07 15:49:28

How are you anyway, I was going to phone you

did you get any sleep yet?

harpsichordcarrier Sat 18-Aug-07 15:50:22

yes! i got six straight hours last night! imagine! helped by lavender bath and a glass of chablis.
I feel amaaaaaaazing
how are you

FrannyandZooey Sat 18-Aug-07 15:53:47

Oh well done, that was good

I am fine, was bricking myself about this awkward pub job today (last week did NOT go at all well in fact I ended up packing up early), but it was fine

and I saw H Potter film last night and am pleased to report young Daniel is still looking mighty fine. I am keeping him warm for you

morningpaper Sat 18-Aug-07 15:55:16

My DD was singing the smile song which is something like:

"S. M. I. L. E. smiiile"

but she keeps singing "S. H. I. T. E. smiiile"

it sounds AWFUL and I don't know what to say

she is 4

FrannyandZooey Sat 18-Aug-07 15:56:06

she spells well, for 4

WanderingTrolley Sat 18-Aug-07 15:56:34

Franny, was that the job where the parents are in the pub and you were doing music in the beer garden with the children? Did it go well? Were the parents sober and helpful?

PS I know of a woman who never washes her hands with soap. Never. [vom]

morningpaper Sat 18-Aug-07 15:57:51

When I had my arms around DP this morning DD said "Mummy are you giving Daddy that special cuddle so that you can get his seed?"

FrannyandZooey Sat 18-Aug-07 16:01:14

WT yes yes

it went ok ish then it went quite badly wrong then today it was ok again [phew]

FrannyandZooey Sat 18-Aug-07 16:01:29

MP why weren't you?

FrannyandZooey Sat 18-Aug-07 16:02:26

What does soap actually achieve, though

don't get me wrong, I do use it...but is it in fact necessary? Doesn't water and rubbing do thr trick?

WanderingTrolley Sat 18-Aug-07 16:04:04

F&Z is there a thread about the going wrong-ness, or are you pretending it didn't happen (often a wise move where children are concerned)?

MP - isn't he a dh, or is that someone else?!

morningpaper Sat 18-Aug-07 16:04:44

no no no Franny you obviously never did this experiement at school

1. Wash hands in water for one minute
2. Wash hands in water and soap for one minute
3. Wash hands in water for 3 minutes
4. Wash hands in water and soap for three minutes

Then place fingers in petri dish

Person 1. will have loads of evil mouldy scary monsters
Person 2. will have less
Person 3 will have less than person 1 but more than person 2
Person 4 will have hardly any

or something like that

FrannyandZooey Sat 18-Aug-07 16:08:00

Oh really? When we first did the petri dish thing, someone stuck a bogey in, and it went berserk and grew everywhere, and Mr. Clarke said it was dangerous and we could have mutated some freak virus and destroyed the whole world, or something.

I don't think we were allowed petri dishes again.

FrannyandZooey Sat 18-Aug-07 16:08:46

WT there was a thread somewhere but I couldn't quite face posting all the wrongness on it

it was too awful to put into words at the time

WanderingTrolley Sat 18-Aug-07 16:11:34

Glad today was better.

Am shocked that Mr Clarke thinks your class invented HIV or, worse, George Bush.

MP - that's what soap should say on it 'Kills all evil mouldy scary monsters dead'

FrannyandZooey Sat 18-Aug-07 16:19:30

So what does soap do then? How does it do it?
