I have spent the last hour reading all the threads about challenging four year olds and have picked up lots of very helpful info which I'm planning to use, but in the meantime I wondered whether anyone else is dealing with a really difficult child and is counting the days until their first day at school.....We start on 5 September, so am counting down from 20 starting NOW.

but don't get too excited. I think the first term often sees a real dip in their behaviour (due to exhaustion and coping with school) and they simply seem to CONCENTRATE the naughtiness and let it all out in one or two hours from hell once they get out of the school gates

God, I'm annoying to be saying this to you.

and worse still, if your 4yo really enjoys school and you have to go through the half days thing for the first term. very frustrating for both of you.

<lalaa throws punch at HG> Thanks for that nugget of info.

My school is v. sensible as far as half days go - we only have 2.5 weeks of it, then full time from 24 Sept. HOOOOOOOOOORAH.

Love my dd but she is driving me spare.

Ds1 goes full time on Thursday 30th August. It's a good school, certainly not too academic, and I trust them to keep it age appropriate. I need hijm to go to school and he is sick of me and his brother - he needs his friends!
