Good morning!
I'm not sure if my 11 month old is trying to drop her morning nap???
She is sleeping longer through the night this morning it was nearly 8am
She usually naps 9.30am and 2pm but she's taking longer and longer to fall asleep in her cot.
Should I try moving her to one nap??? Any advise would be great!
Thank you xx

There is no "should", it only depends omn the individual child. Considering your situation, it seems like your child is ready to switch to one nap only.
Don't worry if it isn't consistent at the beginning, if she sometimes naps once and sometimes twice. She needs to adjust to a new rhythm.

Ah! I was wondering this at lunchtime today. My boy is almost 11 months old. He usually has a 25 min morning nap (9ish) and a 2 hour lunch nap (12:45ish). But he's taken longer and lomger to settle at lunch time for the past week... and today he didnt go to sleep until 2pm! 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄 Nursery naps them at 12:30 so I really don't want him to start doing naps at 2pm - plus I usually get him up at 2:30/3pm so we can go out in the afternoon and be home in time for 7pm bedtime. If he doesn't go to sleep til 2, our afternoon is a write-off! I've read to drop the morning nap at around 12 months, but I'm going to reduce it to 10 mins and see what happens, and if need be I will try dropping it. He'll be 12 months old in 5 weeks anyway so it's not long.

I honestly didn't keep track of how old my dd was when she dropped naps. But it started of taking longer and longer to settle down, for the second or even first nap. Or not looking or acting like she needed the nap at the usual time and so it would be pushed back by 30 mins to an hour. So I just dropped the morning one, and pulled the afternoon one closer. I think she used to have a two hour sleep at about 11. Then as she got older it kept getting pushed till 2pm and slept until 4.
That changed into a 3pm quiet time where she would be in her room after the usual story time and cuddles and if she slept great, if she didn't oh well.
Just have to go with whatever happens.
They will be crankier for a little while, you may have to put them to their bed a little earlier for the night, but they settle to a jew routine pretty quickly.
How I long for those nap times still...at 2 years old she totally dropped all naps 😫

Yes, the morning nap drops off around 12m, but you'll probably need to bring lunch forward and the afternoon nap forward for a week or so, otherwise they get too tired to eat and go to afternoon nap hungry, wake up early and are grumpy for the whole afternoon, they'll adjust, I think of it as jet lag

My son had just a 10 min catnap in the pram today while I was doing ParkRun (running pram). He then went down perfectly on time.for his lunch nap and slept for more than 2 hours before he stirred- hurrah! He's been pretty happy all day so I'll try the same again for the next few days.
