Hi all. My dd has just turned 9 months and has her developmental review on the 16th.

I was just wondering what sort of thing they look for and what it normally entails.

thankies in advance

They check hips, bum, testes (if boy), weight, height. That they are babbling/making noises, that they react to sounds and can pass objects from hand to hand. Will ask questions on feeding and if any thing like my health visitor make you feel like a weirdo for breastfeeding still!

I always go overboard with delight if a Mum is still breastfeeding at 8 months. Dreadful if a HV makes you feel like a weirdo for it. I've one Mum on my books still breastfeeding her 20 month old successfully.

The 8 month check is just a general development review - does all the things devonsmummy says. Some areas (ours) re-do the postnatal depression questionnaire as well - amazing how many Mums I find who are feeling really low.

Am off to change back to my regular name now - I try to stay away from these HV threads but just can't help myself.

Right, well my dd will be 9 and a hlaf months on the date we have to go there, but they must know that.

I feel a bit more at ease about it all now.
