Baby boy crawling and cruising for 10 months now!

Has anyone had a child who has crawled for 10 months? My 15 month old started crawling at 5.5 months and pulled to stand and cruised at 6 months. He is not walking nor has any interest to walk. Im a bit concerned. Also he is very fast cruising, crawling and climbing! I'm also a bit worried too as he does not have any words yet. Nor does he mimic or gesture. Anyone had or has a child like my little boy?

If he's not gesturing it might be worth doing the m-chat and then decide if it's worth talking to the GP.

It sounds like he was really quick to start with with movement and has stayed with what he likes. Maybe try taking him to places where it's good and more fun to be on your feet like the park, trampollining. He's still in normal range for not walking so I don't think you need to worry.

For speech, 15 months is very little for speaking, especially for a boy. Try and find other boys to benchmark against as the girls tend to be much further ahead. I remember my friends girl was talking in French before we even got one word in English! Best thing you can do is simplify your language and name things rather than use sentences.

You certainly don't need to worry about autism as pp has suggested.

My son crawled at 7 months and pulled up and cruised at 8 1/2 months, he took his first 2 steps at 13 months but didn't bother to start walking until 17 months! He just liked crawling, he was so fast and i think he just didn't feel the need to walk, even once he started walking he still crawled half the time as it was quicker. So I wouldn't worry he'll get there eventually.

Did you have a look at the m-Chat OP? As for his speech, Talking Point have produced a really useful guide on what he should be saying and understanding. Have a look and see if he is more or less on target Smile

Ive looked at mchat since he was 11 months. Does not seems age appropriate. For toddlers 1 months and up. I have looked at nearly all websites I can.. teachmetotalk, autismuk, talking point etc... they are all conflicting and incresing my anxiety so I would rather not look at them anymore. I just want to know if other people had same experiences
