True, but it does sound like a classic child manipulation tactic of the "make Mummy/Daddy feel guilty" variety!

I normally say 'of course i love you, i just don't like you xxxxxxx (whatever they were doing).

DS2 used to do this.
"Are you sending me away because you don't want me to be part of the family?" etc.

Heart wrenching.
I used to to not comment, and then talk it through after the time-out.
He had forgotten about it within a couple of minutes.

DS usually just says "You're so MEEEEEANNN".

"Yep I am. You can be mean when you are the Mummy" is my normal response.
