14 month old a walking nightmare!

I'm really struggling to cope with my 14 month old at the moment. She has been walking since 11 months but in the last month or so she has really got momentum up and is more or less running everywhere. The problem is she is really unsteady still and is so wobbly she falls over all the time. A fall on the floor is fine as she knows how to land but she keeps falling straight into things, door frames, bed frames etc. We've ended up in A&E with her twice in the last month with bumps to the head 🤦‍♀️. I feel like a bad parent but unless I literally strap her in her highchair or buggy all day there is no stopping her. My house is pretty well baby proofed but doorways are difficult as can't really pad them as they won't shut.
Is it normal for her to still be so unsteady after 5months of walking? My first didn't walk until about 18months when she just got up and was off and was pretty steady straight away.
I love my little munchkin dearly but feel like I'm getting cross with her for running everywhere as I'm so anxious when really she's just being a happy toddler exploring.
I don't really know what my question is, just is this normal? When can I hope she might get more steady? Thanks

I would maybe take her to the GP and get her vision checked and also ear infections (as they can effect balance) if that is all ok, then wait another month or so. You could also check in with the health visitor and see what they say.

My DD was exactly the same - walked at 11 months and was running long before she was steady. Lots of crashes into door frames and walls around 14 months too. She's now 16 months and much more steady! The head bumps and face bruises seem to have subsided.

Thanks for your responses sorry I've only just seen them!
I'm not sure it's her eye sight has she usually avoids the hazards it's more she trips up or runs too fast for her own little legs! I will mention it at my next doc appt with her though and maybe they can have a quick look.
Reassuring to hear others are the same and they got more steady. I think she is getting more stable slowly so hopefully in the next few months we'll have less bumps 🤦‍♀️
Thank you for your replies
