2 year old babbling

Hi all

My child is 2 and she has plenty of words (too many to count), she recognises letters, numbers and colours however she still babbles loads! She has started putting 2-3 word sentences together but not many, just wondering if the constant babbling is normal?

It sounds very good to me but if you are concerned speak to your HV.

There is also a website called Talking Point which has a progress checker and tips etc.

Absolutely normal, the babble is probably her saying the bigger sentences that are yo come. I felt like DS was stuck on single words for ages then all of a sudden loads came out

My 2 year old daughter still babbles sometimes, despite having very good language skills. I think sometimes it's comforting just to make some random noises - it must be very tiring constantly trying to communicate in a language you are just getting the hang of, so I think of it as her giving her brain some down-time.
