I agree with jilted, completely normal behaviour. If I ever wake my 3yo up from a nap he basically wants me dead. And again normal at being unsettled for the rest of the day. You could try toilet training him so he never has to have another nappy change while napping grin

I'm sorry I'm confused. Is she trained? Did she say what exactly she thinks is the issue?

I don’t really want to get into detail but it was a ‘friend’ that has no training or is specialised in paediatrics to be able to give a diagnosis to a child she sees around 5 times a month.

Who's told you that there's something wrong with him OP?

Thank you JiltedJohnsJulie. Today was better than yesterday. I am a bit paranoid atm as I had someone telling me there’s something wrong with my son and I look into every little change in his behaviour and doubt myself a lot.
He’s my first child and don’t have much experience so thought I’d ask others if they experienced the same with their little ones.
Thank you x

Sounds like exactly what you think it is, being overtired. How've you both got on today OP?

Hi All

My little boy goes to nursery in the morning until 1.30. I then pick him up and he usually falls asleep in the car and then I take him to bed to have a nap.
Yesterday however the nursery didn’t change his nappy and I couldn’t leave him with a dirty nappy for another couple of hours so when we got home I decided to change his nappy.
It totally disrupted his sleep and he couldn’t go back to sleep.
The whole day was a nightmare. He wouldn’t stop crying unless I took him for a drive in the car. I took him for a couple of drives and he fell asleep in the car but as soon I stopped the engine he’d wake up.
I’ve never seen him so distraught.
There was nothing I could do to calm him down. Nothing worked. Distracting him for a bit by looking out the window in the evening did work but only for a little while and then he’d start crying again.
I’ve never seen him so tired that he can’t rest. Did this ever happen to you and do you think this is normal behaviour for an overtired child?
Thank you!
