Hi all
My LO who is 16 weeks is a terrible eater. He has never been great but I can tell it’s gotten worse. He won’t take more than 3oz each feed - if I try and make him take more he’ll scream or be sick. He’s very small (25th percentile) and last time I had him weighed he wasn’t gaining as he had done previously. I find it really stressful. He’ll take a good bottle before bed and at 10pm but that’s it. He’s still waking every 1.5 hours so I feed him but again he takes a tiny amount and then doesn’t want anymore. We’ve switched his milk, bottle teets and bottles but nothing helps....

It doesn't really matter if he's only taking 3 floz in one feed, as long as he's getting the right amount in 24 hours. He should be having 2.5 floz per pound in weight, so if he's 15 lb he should be having 37.5 floz. If you work it out like that, is he taking enough?

No he’s not and he’s recently dropped to the 9th percentile....

If he's not taking the recommended amount and is dropping centiles, he needs checking out by a Paediatrician to find out why.

I'd see your GP in the morning Smile
