Dh was discussing ds (3.5) with his sister. She mentioned Steve Budulph , and his theory that boys have a massive dose of testosterone at aged 3.5 and this lasts till aged 5.
Which Budulph book is this in, please ?Any advice / experience ?

Raising Boys!

Seemed to work with my boys.... DT2 just about to get his I think!

yes, yes, yes!
Had a thread about this last year. Will try and find it and link it for you.
All agreed that the testosterone surge from 3.5 - 4.5ish could be the main reason for unexplained and out-of-the-blue crappy behaviour. We experienced some really out of character stuff and it freaked me out. We live in Oz and it was a lady in the playground who told me all about Steve and his theory.
Will try and find link.....

Ooh I like this theory - was beginning to think DS1 (4 next month) had been kidnapped by aliens and replaced with his evil twin

Wolfgirl Sun 01-Jul-07 12:29:14

Oblomov - we got the same with DS 3 and 3/4!

Thank you. I have read some threads before, but not actually the book. Have seen his name spelt loads of different ways - most of them wrongly, by me.

"Raising Boys" is a good book, except where he berates people for sending small boys to nursery.

Oblomov Sun 01-Jul-07 12:33:30

No, no Tamdin. No offence taken , just alittle giggle to myself .

Oblomov Sun 01-Jul-07 12:34:31

Actuaaly UD, in th elast month, I have started to believe that, having sent ds to a nursery p/t, since the end of my maternity leave.

UnquietDad Sun 01-Jul-07 12:35:40

My point is people usually do it because they don't have the choice. So it's a pointless piece of admonishment by him.
