4 month going on 5 a different baby suddenly

OK I figure it's a regression plus he's learning to roll over so a growth spurt too. Teething also.

From being such a placid baby who slept well, he is now irritable & sleeping terribly.

From anyone who has experienced this, does the baby go back to how they were? I know I'm wishfully hoping!

I can't believe a baby could change so suddenly, afraid now he has developed bad habits, someone give me hope.

It’s most likely to be the 4 month sleep regression. If you need some help with sleep, I can recommend the No Cry Sleep Solution Smile

Try a dose of Ibruprofen for the teething and some Dentinox thing gel too.

Babies don’t have bad habits either, they just have needs that they tell you about, usually by crying Smile

My DS went from calm and great sleeper to a very alert, very poor sleeper at 16 weeks. I think the world sort of came into focus for him and it was exciting. He’s still a dreadful sleeper at 13 months and still super alert but definitely happier and more focused. Most other babies I know got back on track with sleep by 6 months (my DS didn’t get the message :) )

I'm afraid that the 4 month sleep regression is actually a permanent change in the way babies sleep. That's not to say it won't improve again, but it won't be the same as before. I'm sure Google knows more but it's something to do with linking up sleep cycles.
