3 yo bit another child- what should I do?!

Hi All,
My 3 yo ds bit another child today when he was at the child minder. He hasn’t done this before but left a big mark (so I’m told). I’m mortified and know that there isn’t anything I can do now apart from try and stop him doing it again. I think he did it in self defence from what he had said (and I am by no means excusing his behaviour) and when I talked to him about it he didn’t really seem to understand. How can I help to try and stop him doing it again? Any advice much appreciated!

Just let the CM know you are mortified and ask her to pass on you apologies to the other child, then work with your CM to try to support her in making sure it doesn't become a habit.
If it does become a regular thing, come back for more advice.

It happens. Quite a few children bite at some point, YOu just have to hope it doesn't become a 'thing' for him.
