My clingy baby(2 Posts)
I have a 6 month old baby girl who I've breast fed pretty much exclusively up until now. We co sleep, having chucked her dad out of bed so there's more room. She will be passed to a few people other than me but only for a very short cuddle before crying. When I pass her to anyone else she instantly looks for me and starts to panic if I'm not in sight. I therefore barely go anywhere without her, except to the toilet but sometimes she comes there with me too. I love her beyond words and I understand she's only 6 months old and to her I'm her world, food, comfort, etc. But I was just wondering if anyone who has experienced this kind of clingy baby could tell me when this phase passed? I'm seriously cherishing these cuddles and the close bond we have but if I'm honest I also look forward to being able to do crazy fun things like shower and touch things with two hands 😊.
It sounds perfectly normal. Both of these were like this. Now the youngest is a preteen, I sometimes wish she was my cuddly baby instead of a stroppy, door slamming whirlwind.
Some things that can help, get DH to give her breakfast or even a 10 minutes guided walk around the house or garden while you have a shower.
If DH is off this weekend send them both to the library and park while you go for a coffee, haircut, walk or even just a snooze at home.
Just keep being there for her and try sone of these games
