Help! My 2 month old baby just will not be put down with out screaming the house down, even if I'm sat right next to her. She's been like this since birth! Since I'm home alone I have to put her down to get stuff done, how can I make her accept it? I've tried lots of places in the house, different chairs, rockers, laid down, sat up etc!! Or is she still just too young to expect this of her?!? Thanks!!

You have my sympathy as both of mine were Velcro babies. If you need to do things, I’d get a sling to free up your hands.

Have a google of the fourth trimester too. Like most things though, it will pass and then you’ll be missing all of the cuddles Smile

Wear your baby. She obviously loves being near you. It's also excellent for development both mental and physical. My baby used to be the same. Now at 20 weeks old I can actually put her down long enough to load the dishwasher and have a wee. If I sit down next to her whilst she's on playmat she'll happily play for a good while. She's still pretty clingy, but sling/carrier was/is our saving grace. It gets better.
She obviously likes you...it's a compliment Wink

My eldest was like that. I basically went with the flow, carried him round all the time, then around 4 months he just snapped out of it.

Have you tried swaddling? Can give them the feeling of being cuddled and helped us transition.

My DS wouldn’t let me put him down for about 6/8 weeks when he was about 4 months old. I had to carry him everywhere and he slept on my while standing up during the day. He didn’t like to be in a sling so I just had to learn to do things one handed. Not idea and it was terribly frustrating but he grew out of it eventually

Does she go down at night time? I would definitely recommend swaddling. My dd wasn't very clingy at that age she is now she's just turned 1. Try and enjoy it as much as possible while it lasts and a sling would be great to to get things done Smile

She sleeps quite well at night, 10pm until about 5am (we co-sleep). She just doesn't want to be left during the day!
