Am I over thinking this?

Hi guys, just looking for some reassurance/wisdom from other mums

My daughter is basically 10months (3 days left). She started standing by herself at 6 months but hasn’t really progressed since then. I give her ample belly time to crawl, cruise along furniture and push along a walker trolly. But she is not sturdier or more balanced now than she was at 6 months. She doesn’t look like she’s much closer to walking alone or standing unaided.

I know babies do things in their own time, but I’m starting to get worried because of the halt in progress. Plus, most babies in my family/friends circle went from cruising to standing alone/walking within weeks-month or two. Crucially though it’s not about when she will walk because each child is different, it’s the fact that I am not seeing much improvement. I should see a difference in movement between 6-10months right?

She was a breech baby and I noticed she’s slightly pigeon toed on her left. Could this be preventing her?

Thanks in advance for any replies x

6 months is very very early for her to be pulling up so I wouldn't be concerned that she hasn't moved on. My DS didn't start pulling up until 9 1/2 months and was walking by 11 1/2.

I don't think there's any need to be concerned. She's clearly interested in getting up and about but she's doing it in her own time and she's still got plenty left yet before it becomes a worry.

DS1 pulled up at 7 months and walked independently at 13 months. DS2 started pulling up to stand at 7 months. Didn't walk until 18 months! They're all different. 10 months is very young and early standing/cruising doesn't necessarily lead to early walking.

My dd pulled herself up at 6 months but didn't walk until 13 months as once she mastered standing, she decided to focus on her speech and fine motor skills instead.

Hi guys thanks for your response

So the picture I’m getting is that the time between standing and walking isn’t always short which is reassuring.

Has anyone experienced inward facing foot/toes with their little ones? I’m concerned this might be an issue for her nonetheless.

The day my DS starting crawling he pulled himself up to stand on our tv unit Shock then 5.5 months later he walked across the room.

Many babies of similar ages over took him - as in they didn't crawl for months then crawled and walked quickly.

It's weird but they honestly do things at different speeds.

Do not worry !
