Snacks WITHOUT the sugar

Does anyone have any words of wisdom about alternative snacks to biscuits, cakes, ice cream and crisps that a three year old with a sugar addiction may take to?

It’s my own fault! My daughter is wild. Sugar seems to affect her badly. My eldest is fine when he has sweet crap but my youngest seems affected by only three damned jelly babies!!! We watched her today after saying for weeks that either she’s ADHD or sugar sends her hyper and she had three jelly babies with her dessert when we were out and we ended up having to chase her down the side of a harbour and even being dragged by her coat when faced with danger (cars, harbour, WATER!) she was still laughing, trying to escape etc until I bawled at her. It was like she needed reigns!! She’s nearly four.

To be honest she has been since birth (long story - won’t delve into it) as everyone including health professionals all said she was ‘highly strung’, a screamer, never settled anywhere, naps were pathetic 10 minute snoozes, bedtime hasn’t been great but also not a nightmare (can be up several times before our bedtime and wake early - often 2:30am ready to start her day and then goes back to sleep at 5:30ish when I am having to get up).

I want to cut sugar out completely. But I have no idea what alternatives she may accept without having the dreaded screaming temper tantrums.

Please don’t berate me. I am not needing a lecture - only after advice about how to change things for the better.

We also have two birthday parties coming up! God help me!

I would try and gently change her palate with a few healthier ideas rather than offer the sugar free versions of the sweet stuff.

What about
Goodies range especially the cocoa oat bars, cheese crackers

Tiny triangle sandwiches ( wholemeal bread with a scrape of Nutella and sliced/ mashed banana??)

Vegestraws, carrot rice cakes, breadsticks, water biscuits
Sliced grapes, cooked carrot batons, baby corn, chopped cherry tomatoes,
Wrap little cubes of different cheeses in foil and top with a sticker (like sweets)!

Dried fruits are sweet like candy but have at least some fibre (Am sure you are good st brushing teeth after these kinds of things - they are sticky )

Will she eat any of these things OP?

Or do I have to get more creative with my ideas?..,,

Will she eat fruit? Ours live on snacks of grapes, apple slices, satsumas, strawberrys, blueberries, banana, melon, cucumber, tomatoes.

Will always take chocolate etc first if it's available but if it's not then they'll tuck into sweet fruit snacks all day long.

How about...
Homemade American pancakes, missing out the sugar but adding vanilla powder so they are at least flavoured as if they are sweet. They usually last up to a week in the fridge, can be toasted with butter or served with plain yoghurt and fruit.

Although they do contain some sugar, it is less than half the amount if you switch to muffins rather than cupcakes when you bake at home.

Good snacks are as PP said, chopped fruit, my sil puts her apple for a few minutes in diluted lemon juice to stop it turning brown in the tub when out.

And also you can buy those little gingerbread men in the toddler isle and I don't think they have sugar.
