I’ve got a 6 year old who will be 7 in the beginning of January and my plan was to buy a ds for Christmas then think what to get for birthday but due to him getting to addicted to computer as in it’s only he does and is currently sulking as I told him to play with toys instead I don’t want to get the ds but as he rarely plays with toys I feel they would be a waste of money.so has anyone got any ideas of things that might get him interested I need two lots of ideas because I’m not buying less because of where he’s birthday is as that’s not his fault but I lost with no ideas!,,

Could you get him some sort of experience for his birthday? Someone I know recently got their DN a course of climbing lessons which they loved. How about an annual pass to the zoo? Board games always go down well here, especially in the winter.

Just out of interest, how are yiu tackling the computer addiction? Might have a slight problem here too Blush

They would all be good ideas if it wasn’t lots of places not open in winter plus we are a family who value a family day out more than anything so they don’t get much in toys etc in the year we spend that money on days out so not really anything different and we have lots of board games trouble is always wants us to play which we like doing but not always got time trouble is he’s got two older sisters so no one to play with.as tackling the computer to be honest just only starting to as up to this point it wasn’t a problem as he did love Thomas trains etc but seems to have lost interest so now on computer more so I’ve put time limits etc on but as say he sulked then wants us to play same with Lego etc daddy ends up building it not him xx

How about a magazine subscription? My DS like Nat Geo kids at that age or Match if he’s into footie?

Have you thought of a Raspberry Pi if he likes computers?
