Baby teething at 2 months?

My ds is 11 weeks old tomorrow. I was sure babies usually get their first teeth somewhere between 4 and 6 months old, but today when I was out an older lady (had grown-up kids of her own) was holding my ds and mentioned she thinks two teeth were coming through. He has been sucking his fist a lot even when he's not hungry but I'd dismissed this as just a sucking habit as he doesn't use a dummy. Can such tiny babies really have teeth this early?Grin TIA

At 2months babies find their hands and start sucking them. It’s a developmental stage to put things in their mouth as thisnis how they learn. Wouldn’t look into it anymore than that

My 12 week old ds has 2 bottom teeth just about to break the surface Shock he was also 6 weeks prem so it's very early!
He does all the things you've described, so it's definitely possible.
