The dreaded sex talk how old?

So basically my daughter is 8 nearly 9 and there's been a lot of talk with school friends lately about sex. Should I get in there and tell her the facts so she dosent end up with miscommunication or is it too soon?

Surely you want to correct any misinformation. It doesn't have to be all in one talk, we often chat in the car as its more informal and less intimidating

I was doing the whole wait till she asks questions she knows the basic about when she gets bigger and where babies come from 😊

My dds are the same age and dd1 asked a question in the car one day with just me and her so I told her basics and answered questions (which were mostly around logistics).

She told dd2 as I knew she would (twins) then I checked in with dd2 who said the whole thing sounded horrid and she'd never do it.

I've left it there for the moment but have always been v open about periods, we're tackling puberty and self care now as it comes up and basically answering stuff as they ask.

Oh dd2 wasn't interested in the slightest btw but I knew dd1 would tell her so wanted to make sure the info was right.
