Advice needed!!! Our DS has been struggling to go to bed over the last month or so.... we’re talking normally goes to bed about 730 (or used to!) now is still up past 9, this evening he has only just settled. He says he has bad dreams, but sometimes I don’t even think he has tried as he likes company and likes to talk. He struggles with being tired and gets really grumpy, horrid and struggles with normal things. As do I 😔. I’m embarrassed to admit that the other day I got cross, shouted at him and slammed his door. I know that won’t solve anything but I am really struggling. This evening my husband and I have had a massive row in front of him (about 10 minutes ago). I know he is struggling to get to sleep. We don’t have a tele in his room, he watches one thing before bed, then we read, have cuddles and off he goes. He doesn't eat sugary foods either. Sending him slightly later or earlier doesn’t seem to make a difference. He wakes up at 630 (or earlier) , I work full time and am shattered. The window was open so everyone heard my outburst this evening. I’m totally at a loss and in tears 😞 any advice gratefully received xxx

Have you tried putting on a children's meditation or stories from some of the ones on Youtube?

My DD is 10 now and she has to have music on....we've built a good playlist for her of very relaxing music.

She likes Christmas carols! Doesn't matter the time of year...she falls asleep to silent night.

Is he feeling generally insecure? How is he doing at school?

Ok we think... we have written to his teachers today. He is the smallest and one of the youngest in his class and often struggles with that. I've managed to book in with drs so hopefully they can give us some suggestions! Fingers crossed
