Hi,

My two are 20months and i have been quoted approx £20 per child for private swimming sessions. Great reviews but sounds a lot. Can anyone recommend any private swimming teachers? Someone recommended londonbabyswim?

I wouldn't even bother at that age tbh

If you're willing to go to a group such as Waterbabies it's around half the price. The groups are small and you go in the water with the baby.

I go to Greenwich Centre and they are really good. Especially lessons with Tracy. I have been to more expensive ones like little dippers and virgin for months and the ones at Greenwich are just as good. Btw, it is worth it early on as it's about getting a child comfortable with water and a life skill that's very important. My 18 month old jumps and even dives in the pool head first on his own, backfloats fully in water with my hand barely touching the back of his head and he swims underwater with no assistance. He will swim on his own by the time he's two. He has a float backpack and he's slowly at the point where he won't need it at all.

It might be a life skill but no need to start so early with small babies. My two started lessons at age 3 and that was plenty early enough. Take them to the pool yourself earlier but I wouldn't pay for actual lessons
